About Us
Splattered Ink, Westland Middle School's literary magazine, was founded by the members of Westland's creative writing club. The goal of the creative writing club is to encourage self-expression. During our meetings we read poems and passages selected by our faculty advisors. We also spend time writing and discussing each other's work. To publish Splattered Ink, we solicit submissions of art, poems, and stories from the school-wide community. By publishing this magazine, we hope to make it possible for young writers to share thoughts and feelings that might otherwise never make it out into the world.
Thanks so much to all of the students who submitted their beautiful, original work.
Special thanks to student tech wizards Pria D., Ryan T., Jason C., Pria also designed our eye-catching new logo. Mr. McGinley helped manage the website with skill and kindness. We are especially grateful to Mrs. Rodgers, who allowed us to print some of the student art work that was recently displayed at a Montgomery County public library, and that was later showcased in the main entryway of our school.
